What is normal, in our experience of this market:
- Fees are monthly, paid in advance. Anything asking for a term or a year up front is unusual and worth questioning.
- A month's notice either way is the common courtesy. A lock-in longer than that is not standard.
- Missed classes by the tutor are made up, not forfeited. Missed by the student, usually not - which is fair, but should be said out loud before you start.
- Group size should be stated in writing. This is the one that quietly changes. Families most often leave a tutor because a group of three became eleven and nobody announced it.
- You may sit in on any class. There is no legitimate reason to refuse a parent this.
