Online tuition in Delhi NCR

The single most useful thing to settle before any teaching starts, because the two are not interchangeable at the senior end.

The row that costs families most is the second one. A child preparing for CBSE Class 10 board exam by working through CBSE past papers is rehearsing for a different examination, and it is a mistake we see regularly. Nothing, if the claim is simply CBSE knowledge - and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. In Delhi NCR, CBSE is the default board, so being able to teach it is table stakes rather than a differentiator. The question worth asking any tutor here is narrower: what specifically do you do that gets marks a child has already earned?

Because that is where most marks actually go. CBSE marking schemes instruct evaluators to award marks part by part and step by step. A correct method with the working done in a child's head, and only the final answer written down, loses the step marks a fully shown method would have earned even if the final answer were wrong. Command words matter the same way: a question saying differentiate wants both things set against each other, and an answer describing one of them thoroughly gets partial credit at best.

Yes, and it is worth saying plainly because it is a real feature of Delhi's school year rather than an edge case. When schools shut, an online class runs as normal - the teacher is not travelling and neither is your child.

The genuinely useful part is not the individual class though. It is that a closure week does not become a gap nobody accounts for. Because your child keeps the same teacher every week, a disrupted stretch is something that teacher knows about and picks up from, rather than a hole in the syllabus that surfaces months later in an exam. Schools handle closures with worksheets and catch-up at very different levels of thoroughness.

One honest caveat about searching for this: queries about schools in Delhi are frequently swamped by news coverage of closures and air quality rather than teaching, which makes finding practical information harder than it should be. If that is how you arrived here, the short version is that the classes continue and the teacher tracks what was missed.

Delhi NCR has more organised coaching than anywhere else in India, and much of it is genuinely effective at what it is built for - large batches, competitive preparation, volume of practice. It is worth being clear that we are not that, and for some children that is the better option.

Where a large batch struggles is the specific child who quietly stopped following three weeks ago. A batch of forty cannot pause for one student, and a rotating faculty means nobody accumulates a picture of how one child is doing over months. That is the narrow thing a weekly class with the same teacher does - not more practice, but noticing.

So the honest split is this. If your child needs volume and competition and is broadly keeping up, coaching may serve them well.
