It is one of the more revealing findings in our research. Among the top ten suggestions for tuition searches in Kuwait is hindi tuition in kuwait - and outside India, Hindi is rarely the subject parents name first. Maths and English usually dominate.

The most likely explanation is planning. Hindi is a scoring subject in the CBSE system and a required one at many Indian schools, and it is the subject that most often becomes a problem for a child who has grown up entirely abroad - fluent in conversation at home, perhaps, but shaky at reading Devanagari script or applying grammar rules on paper. For a family expecting to return to India, that gap has consequences at exactly the wrong moment.

Well. India is two and a half hours ahead of Kuwait, so a 6pm class in India is 3:30pm here and a 7pm India class is 4:30pm. With a school day that starts early and finishes in the early afternoon, that leaves a real gap between school and class rather than a scramble.

The school week runs Sunday to Thursday and the weekend falls on Friday and Saturday. India's weekend is Saturday and Sunday, so Saturday is the overlap and that is when a weekend class would sit. Most families here find a weekday mid-afternoon slot easier given the school timetable.

Class 1 to Class 10 on CBSE, ICSE and state boards, with Hindi taught as a full subject rather than a conversational extra - which is what local searches actually ask for.

If Hindi is your concern, say so at booking, because the assessment then looks quite different: the teacher will have your child read a short passage aloud and write a few words to dictation, which separates the three skills that get lumped together. A child can be completely fluent in spoken Hindi and still not recognise a word written down, or know the sound but not which matra represents it. Only the written skills are what a Hindi exam actually tests.
