Online tuition in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi has around 25 CBSE-affiliated schools and its own regulator, ADEK, which sets a minimum of 175 school days a year and evaluates schools through its Irtiqa'a framework. Parents here search school fees by name - which tells you what the real pressure is.

Abu Dhabi is the second-largest cluster of Indian-curriculum schooling in the UAE after Dubai, with roughly 25 of the country's 110 CBSE-affiliated schools on an approximate reading of CBSE's directory by address. It has its own regulator: ADEK, the Department of Education and Knowledge, established under Law 24 of 2005, which evaluates schools through the Irtiqa'a framework and requires a minimum of 175 school days a year. One thing worth noticing in how parents here actually search: alongside tuition queries, the leading suggestions include school fees in abu dhabi indian school and school fees in abu dhabi cbse. Cost is visibly front of mind, which is part of why we publish our own fees rather than quoting them on a call.

What does ADEK regulate, and how does it differ from Dubai's KHDA?

ADEK - the Department of Education and Knowledge - regulates private schooling in Abu Dhabi under Law 24 of 2005. It evaluates schools through a framework called Irtiqa'a, and it sets a minimum of 175 school days a year, which is a firmer published floor than most education authorities in the region state explicitly.

The practical difference from Dubai is one of emphasis rather than kind. Both emirates inspect and both publish outcomes, but they are separate authorities with separate frameworks, so an Abu Dhabi school's evaluation is not directly comparable to a Dubai school's KHDA rating. If you have moved between the two emirates, that is worth knowing before you try to read one against the other.

What neither authority does is set your child's syllabus. For a CBSE school, the syllabus comes from CBSE and the books from NCERT - which is exactly why a teacher in India can teach it properly, and why our teaching works from your child's actual school books rather than from a local interpretation of them.

Why do so many Abu Dhabi parents search for school fees specifically?

Because it is the pressing number. Among the leading suggestions for tuition-related searches in Abu Dhabi are school fees in abu dhabi indian school, school fees in abu dhabi cbse and school fees in abu dhabi per month. That is an unusually explicit cost signal, and it is worth responding to honestly rather than pretending fees are a secondary concern.

So, plainly: our group classes are AED 349 a month for Class 1 to 5, AED 449 for Class 6 to 8 and AED 549 for Class 9 to 10, covering sixteen live classes a month. One-to-one starts at AED 599. Spoken English is AED 249 a month flat across every class. These are published on the fees page and nothing is quoted differently on a call.

For context on scale, KHDA's published data for the neighbouring emirate puts median annual Indian-curriculum school tuition at AED 14,107 at Grade 1 and AED 17,062 at Grade 5. Tuition on top of school fees is a real household decision, and a monthly figure you can see in advance is the least we can do about that.

Which Indian-curriculum schools operate in Abu Dhabi?

Established Indian-curriculum schools in the emirate include Abu Dhabi Indian School, which also runs an Al Wathba branch; Bright Riders School, which spans KG1 to Grade 12 with roughly 3,000 students; GEMS United Indian School; and Sunrise English Private School.

These are named factually from CBSE's affiliation directory, and no affiliation with any of them is implied. The point is only that whichever your child attends, the syllabus underneath is one our teachers already know in depth - and the teaching works from your child's own books and their school's actual pace rather than a generic plan.

Around 25 of the UAE's 110 CBSE-affiliated schools sit in Abu Dhabi on an approximate reading of CBSE's directory by address, second only to Dubai.

Which subjects and classes do you cover in Abu Dhabi?

Class 1 to Class 10 across CBSE, ICSE and IGCSE, matched to whichever your child's school follows.

StageSubjectsUsual focus
Class 1-Class 3English, Maths, EVS, HindiPhonics and early number sense
Class 4-Class 6English, Maths, Science, Social Science, HindiComprehension and the move to subject teachers

Spoken English is taught separately, and worksheets and games are free to use regardless.

We move around the UAE for work. Does that disrupt anything?

Not on our side. An online class does not care which emirate you are in, so a move from Abu Dhabi to Dubai, Sharjah or Ajman means the same teacher, the same slot and the same fee. That is a real advantage over a local tutor or centre, where a move usually means starting over.

What does change is the regulator. Abu Dhabi schools answer to ADEK, Dubai's to KHDA and Sharjah's to SPEA, and their frameworks are not interchangeable - so a previous school's rating is not a like-for-like comparison with a new one. Calendars can differ too: KHDA and SPEA publish official April-to-March calendars for Indian-curriculum schools, and Sharjah private schools are explicitly exempted from the federal common return date.

The syllabus, though, does not change at all. A CBSE child moving between emirates is on the same NCERT books and the same chapter order throughout, which is precisely why teaching from India survives the move intact. See the UAE overview for how the emirates compare.

Why this works

Why families in Abu Dhabi choose a teacher in India

Not because it is cheaper. Because your child is sitting the Indian syllabus, and the people who know that syllabus best are the ones who teach it every day.

  • The same NCERT books and chapter sequence your child's school already follows
  • A 4:30pm or 6pm class with no drive across the island in summer
  • Specialist subject teachers for senior classes, matched on board rather than on who lives nearby
  • Published fees in dirhams, in a market where school-fee cost is visibly a live concern

Questions parents ask

Tuition in Abu Dhabi, honestly answered

Who regulates private schools in Abu Dhabi?

ADEK, the Department of Education and Knowledge, under Law 24 of 2005. It evaluates schools through the Irtiqa'a framework and requires a minimum of 175 school days a year. It is a separate authority from Dubai's KHDA, so ratings between the two emirates are not directly comparable.

How much does online tuition cost for an Abu Dhabi family?

Group classes are AED 349 a month for Class 1 to 5, AED 449 for Class 6 to 8 and AED 549 for Class 9 to 10, covering sixteen live classes. One-to-one starts at AED 599 and spoken English is AED 249 flat. Pricing is the same across all emirates and published rather than quoted.

What time would classes run for a family in Abu Dhabi?

India is 90 minutes ahead, so a 6pm class in India is 4:30pm in Abu Dhabi and a 7:30pm India class is 6pm here. Both fall after a Gulf school day and before dinner. Weekend classes work normally since Abu Dhabi follows the Saturday-Sunday weekend.

Which Indian schools are in Abu Dhabi?

Established ones include Abu Dhabi Indian School and its Al Wathba branch, Bright Riders School, GEMS United Indian School and Sunrise English Private School. These are listed factually from CBSE's affiliation directory and we are not affiliated with any of them.

We moved from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. Does anything change about tuition?

Nothing on our side - same teacher, same syllabus, same fees, same class times if they still suit you. What does change is the regulator: your new school is evaluated by ADEK rather than KHDA, so a previous KHDA rating is not a like-for-like comparison.

Is Abu Dhabi's school year April to March like some Dubai schools?

It depends on your specific school. KHDA and SPEA both publish official April-start calendars for Indian-curriculum schools in Dubai and Sharjah, but neither authority publishes which individual schools use them, and Abu Dhabi is regulated separately. Check your school's own published calendar - our teaching follows the Indian April-to-March year either way.

Do you teach IGCSE and ICSE as well as CBSE here?

Yes. Abu Dhabi has a wide mix of curricula, and the teacher is matched to your child's actual board - CBSE, ICSE or IGCSE - at the assessment rather than assigned generically.

Is it worth online tuition when there are tuition centres locally?

For a specific subject at a senior class, usually yes. A centre timetable is built around its own staffing rather than your child, while an online class is matched on board, class and subject and keeps the same teacher every week - which is what lets someone actually notice a gap forming.
