What does a green light mean? → Go, but only after checking the road is clear. Road-safety answers are worth getting exactly right rather than roughly right, because this is the one EVS topic where the knowledge is used outside the exam.

- Trace food back one step only. Honey comes from bees, not from flowers - children who over-trace end up saying everything comes from plants eventually, which is true and not what the question asks.
- Road safety is the one EVS topic where being exactly right matters outside the exam. Worth walking through on an actual road rather than only on paper.
- Sugar catches children out - it comes from sugarcane, a plant, though most have only seen it in a packet. That is a good moment to talk about where packaged food starts.
