किताब → किताबें. Words ending in आ change to ए (लड़का → लड़के, कमरा → कमरे). Words ending in ई change to इयाँ (तितली → तितलियाँ, नदी → नदियाँ). Sorting the word by its ending first makes this far quicker than remembering each one.

लड़का खेल रहा है। → लड़के खेल रहे हैं। Two changes, not one: लड़का becomes लड़के AND रहा है becomes रहे हैं. Children usually change the noun and forget the verb. Reading the sentence aloud catches it, because the wrong version sounds wrong to anyone who speaks Hindi.

किताब -> स्त्रीलिंग. There is no rule that decides this from the word's shape - Hindi simply treats किताब as feminine. The test that works is to put a verb after it: किताब अच्छी है, not अच्छा. If your child speaks Hindi at home, their ear already knows all twelve of these.

While your child works
- Your child almost certainly says these correctly in conversation. Ask them to say the sentence aloud before writing - their ear is more reliable than their memory of the rule.
- Sort by the ending of the word (आ, ई, consonant) rather than learning each word separately. Three patterns cover most of Class 3.
- The verb changing with the noun is the part most often missed. Point at the verb rather than correcting it.
