Class 1 EVS Animals Around Us Worksheet
Class 1 EVS · Animals around us · 68 questions with answers
Sorting animals is the whole skill here, and the trap is that the categories overlap - a cow is both domestic and a herbivore, and a dog can be a pet and still be domestic. This sheet asks for one category at a time and says clearly which one, which is where most worksheets on this topic create confusion rather than remove it.
- Sort animals into pet, domestic, wild and water animals.
- Say what an animal eats and where it lives.
- Name the young of common animals.

While your child works
- The categories overlap and children notice. A cow is domestic AND eats plants; a dog is a pet AND domestic. Answer one question at a time and say which category you are asking about.
- Frog and duck are the debatable ones in the last exercise. Both spend part of their lives in water, so both are correct - but a child who leaves them out has reasoned, not guessed.
- Animal young are pure vocabulary and respond well to short, spaced practice - two minutes on three or four days beats twenty minutes once.
