Class 1 EVS My Body and Sense Organs Worksheet with Answers

The first EVS topic almost every Class 1 syllabus opens with, and the one children find easiest to talk about because the subject matter is already attached to them. This sheet moves from naming body parts to matching each sense organ to the job it does - which is the step that actually gets tested, and the one children muddle when they have only learned a list.

  • Name the main external parts of the body and point to each one.
  • Match each of the five sense organs to the sense it gives us.
  • Say which sense organ you would use for a given everyday task.

While your child works

  • Do the sense-organ matching out loud before writing it. A child who can say it can nearly always write it, and the reverse is not true.
  • Taste and smell get confused more than any other pair. If that happens, hold a piece of fruit under the nose and then on the tongue - the distinction lands in about ten seconds.
  • The last exercise is about habits rather than facts. It is worth discussing rather than marking, since a child who answers correctly and does not wash their hands has not learned it.

About this worksheet

How many sense organs should a Class 1 child know?

Five - eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin - each paired with one sense: sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. The pairing matters more than the list, because that is what questions actually ask.

My child names the parts but cannot match the senses. Is that normal?

Very. Naming is recall and matching is application, and the second is genuinely harder. Doing it aloud with real objects - smelling something, then tasting it - fixes it faster than repeating the written exercise.

Does this worksheet include an answer key?

Yes, a full answer key for every exercise, printed separately so a child does not see it while working. Nothing on this page is behind a sign-up.

Does this Class 1 EVS worksheet come with answers?

Yes. Every exercise has a full answer key, and it prints on its own page at the end rather than beside the questions - so you can hand your child the sheet and keep the answers back. Some exercises also show one question already worked out, with the method rather than just the result, which is the part most answer keys leave out.

Is there a free printable PDF?

Yes, and there is no sign-up, no email and no account. The download button at the top of the sheet gives you the whole thing - all 56 questions across 5 exercises, plus the answer key - laid out to print on A4.

How long does this worksheet take?

About 20 minutes for 56 questions, though that is a guide rather than a target. It is designed to be split: the exercises are ordered so stopping halfway still leaves a complete piece of work, which matters more than finishing at this age.

Can I use it if my child is in a different class?

Often, yes - these topics are taught across several years and schools vary in when they arrive. Judge by the questions rather than the class on the label. If the first exercise is a struggle the level below is the better start, and the same topic at other levels is linked further up this page.
