  4. 4) No. A prime number must have exactly two factors - 1 and itself. The number 1 has only one factor (itself), so it is neither prime nor composite.

  • Listing factors in pairs (1 and 12, 2 and 6, 3 and 4) is faster and less error-prone than listing them in a single row.
  • This worksheet does not ask for HCF or LCM by name - if your child has learned those terms elsewhere, that is fine, but they are not required here.
  • The prime-number exercise is usually the hardest on this sheet; a quick recap of the tables tends to help more than a rule about primes.

Does this worksheet cover HCF and LCM?

No, and neither does the Class 5 syllabus. Common factors and primes are introduced by name, but HCF and LCM as formal methods are taught from Class 6 onward.

What is the difference between a factor and a multiple on this worksheet?

A factor of a number divides into it exactly with nothing left over; a multiple is what you get by multiplying that number by a whole number. The worksheet practises both, plus common factors and primes.
