Class 5 Hindi · Comprehension and paragraph writing · 17 questions with answers
Class 5 comprehension starts asking what a passage implies, not only what it says, and the paragraph is expected to run to five or six sentences with a shape. Both are the skills Class 6 will assume from day one.
- Answers directly stated questions in full Devanagari sentences
- Answers an implied question and points to the evidence for it
- Writes a paragraph with an opening, a middle and a closing line
Exercise 1 of 3 · 9 questions

The word लगाव never appears in the passage. An inference answer needs both halves: what you conclude, and the line that made you conclude it.

Exercise 3 of 3 · 1 questions
Write the answer · Challenge
Here’s one done for you
The model paragraph opens by stating the topic, gives four separate reasons in the middle, and closes with what we should therefore do. That last sentence is what most children leave out. A paragraph that lists reasons and then stops feels unfinished to a marker, and one closing line is the cheapest mark available in this question.
Answers
While your child works
- By Class 5 the answer repeating part of the question should be automatic. If it is not, that single habit is worth a week of attention on its own.
- For inference questions, accept any answer that points at evidence in the passage, however differently worded.
- In the paragraph, judge shape rather than wording: does it open by saying what it is about, and does it end rather than just stop?
